Male Athlete of the Issue: Nicholas Bell

Written by: Emily Moretz

For this article, I interviewed Nicholas Bell by asking him a series of questions to get his responses. Here is what I learned about this new athletic force entering the school’s high school athletics programs. Nick is a freshman in high school at SCDS who works hard in sports and even harder in school. He participates in many after-school activities and is planning to try to participate in more as his time in high school increases. Nick is a born-athlete who you can find at the games in jersey number thirty-three! Throughout these questions, I found out tons of information about Nick, including that Nick has been playing football for four years now, as long as he has been at Savannah Country Day. He does track alongside football, and he prefers track as it is his favorite sport. He is looking forward to the upcoming track season as high school track has been the thing about upper school he is most excited about.

Nick also claims that Hayes Beaver, a junior at SCDS, has pushed him the most in football, even though Nick is quitting next year. Nick plays corner and receiver in football, and in track he does the high jump, 100-meter dash, and relay. He plans on doing the long jump this upcoming season as high school is the time to try new things! Nick has loved sports for a very long time, and says that the reason he got into sports in the first place was because of his natural athletic ability. The reason he doesn’t plan on playing football next year is because he wants to do more activities in school such as join clubs like… and focus more on track, which can be very difficult with the extremely busy football schedule. We can’t wait to see what great things Nick adds to our athletic program over the next four years. If you see number thirty-three, say hi to our athlete of the issue Nicholas Bell!
