Restaurant Review: Maggiano’s Little Italy

Written by: Elana Ruben

While the name may say otherwise, Maggiano’s Little Italy went BIG for our friend’s birthday dinner. We started off with their cheesy, truffle garlic bread. It was perfectly melted and came with a delicious marinara sauce that was great for dipping. We give the garlic bread a 9/10. Next, we tried both the chopped salad and the chef's signature Caesar. These were both very good salads with tasty dressings. However, if you are planning on ordering a pasta or larger dish, we recommend saving your appetite for later on. We give the salads a 6.5/10. Next, we tried the four-cheese ravioli and fettuccine alfredo. The fettuccine was bursting with flavor including its creamy white sauce, well-cooked fettuccine noodles, and the perfect amount of cheese and seasoning to top it all off. We give the fettuccine an 8.5/10. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka had an amazing texture with a nicely flavored sauce. We expected this dish to be a type of bolognese, not just pasta, which was a little disappointing. We give this pasta a 7.5/10. The ravioli was average, flavorful, but relatively boring. We gave this a 7/10. We ended the night with lemon cookies that were anticlimactic. They were bland and mediocre compared to the main dishes from earlier. We give the cookies a 4/10. Overall, our dinner had large portions and a popping flavor! The main dishes did impress us for the most part, however the dessert was very disappointing. We were definitely expecting more. We give Maggiano’s Little Italy a 7/10!!
