Movie Review: Holiday Inn

Written by Meg Howington

When the ground outside is in puddles, and the sky above my head is a hue of gray, I know it is the perfect evening to enjoy the classic film; “Holiday Inn.” The film, which stars Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, was filmed in the early 1940s, and has been a staple of my childhood. The film follows Crosby as he quits his job and moves out to the countryside to successfully open a restaurant only open on holidays after he finds out the love of his life has been swept away by his partner, Astaire. “Holiday Inn,” although falling in the Christmas genre occasionally, is the perfect movie to watch if you’re looking for a musical romance. It does contain a few questionable scenes.. (they definitely wouldn’t be in the movie if it were produced today), but overall “Holiday Inn” is such a classic, and if you haven’t seen it you should :)
