Movie Review: The Lego Batman Movie
Written by Meg Howington
After painstakingly fighting for my life trying to leave school today (due to the abrupt early dismissal caused by awful weather), there was nothing that I wanted more than to feel that familiar, warm fuzzy feeling of comfort. And nothing brings me that comforting feeling more than The LEGO Batman Movie. The movie’s plot is much like the rest of the Batman films: Batman is put up against the Joker, some ultimate fight takes place, and in the end the heroes take the victory. But The LEGO Batman Movie does something all other Batman movies fail to do: be fun for people of all ages to watch.
The LEGO Batman Movie is perfect for all audiences because it has the thrill of the classic Batman movie, but with the added twist of making it in LEGO. The movie never fails at making me and my family laugh with jokes that both kids and adults can understand. The creative and fun aspect of the LEGOs brings a whole new light to the dark and often serious Batman movie. The movie also conveys an excellent message that it is okay to let your guard down and trust your friends. Overall I would rate the movie a 5/5 and I recommend that if you haven’t seen it yet, bless yourself and watch it.
