Dr. Goldberg Teacher Interview: Past, Present, and Future

Written by: Carter Allen

Dr. Goldberg, known by many simply as “KG”, is a frequent guest on the teacher interview segment. Regarded by many of the student body as one of the most liked teachers for his dry humor and his didactic nature, which students from all grades come to experience. Goldberg solely teaches A.P. World History: Modern, with several class periods of sophomores. He is coming off an extremely successful 2023-2024 school year, in which he helped almost ten students get 5’s on their AP World Exam, no small feat. Also, while personally enjoying himself an immense amount with the insightful discussions brought up from his third-period class. Goldberg hopes to continue this success with his current sophomores; however, that is still up in the air after a rough week of testing. In recent years, he has been expanding his teaching experience, filling in on Mr. Hincker’s AP European class, in which he gave a lecture about Catherine the Great of Russia, from memory. Impressive stuff! Likewise, Goldberg has been continuing his pursuit in educating students about contemporary international affairs with his position on the Board of Savannah’s Council for World Affairs. While kids mostly show up for bonus points, it has still yielded great results. In the upcoming school year, Goldberg plans to read more books on European history and possibly even create an elective class for those interested in German history. While many of his former students miss his presence, he can still be found in the middle of Minis, often in his office pretending to grade papers or conversing with the scholars of Country Day.
